Our first offering from Guji, Ethiopia does not disappoint, exhibiting those characteristic jammy fruit notes we have come to expect from the region. Located in the Guji zone, the Uraga Washing Station has over 600 smallholder farmers contributing cherries grown at 1,650 to 2,000 MASL.
Picked by hand when the cherries reach optimal ripeness, this coffee is then red honey processed. This process requires a longer drying time than other honey processes, with the majority of the mucilage remaining intact during this phase. A full-bodied, syrupy, and sweet cup bursting with fruit is the result here.
This offering makes an excellent filtered coffee, sure, but try it as an espresso for a real treat!
